September is Library Card Sign-Up Month. A library card gets you access to print and digital books, databases, online learning tools, and so much more. Help us reach our goal of getting everyone access to the library’s wonderful resources by signing up for a library card today.
Get a library card
You can sign up for a library card in person at the library. To sign up, you will need to provide a valid photo ID and proof of address to complete your application. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must be present when you apply for your card.
How much does a library card cost?
Library cards are free to people who live within Caldwell's city limits. Those residing outside Caldwell city limits may purchase library services with an annual fee. The fees listed below cover the cost of an entire household's library cards.
Annual nonresident card: $47.31
Six month nonresident card: $23.65
Annual senior nonresident card: $25.75
Six month senior nonresident card: $12.88

About Library Card Sign-Up Month
Established September 1987, National Library Card Sign-Up month set forth to put a library card in the hands of every child.
This year's Library Card Sign-Up Month national theme is "Libraries-More Than Meets The Eye."
As such, Optimus Prime and his fellow Transformer friends are encouraging everyone to “Roll Out” to the library this month and sign up for a library card!
Raffle
In honor of Library Card Sign up month, we are holding a raffle for a $50 Visa Gift card!
This way you can enjoy a cup of coffee or snack while you use your new library card to listen to an audio book on Libby; or to order a pizza for game night with the board games you’ve just borrowed from the library! (Raffle is open 9/2 through 9/30)
Details
After you receive your raffle ticket from the front desk, you will drop it off in one of the large clear jars located on the table across from the check out desk.
Please be sure to include your name, phone number, or email. This way we are able to contact you if you win.
Drop off your raffle ticket anytime between September 2 through September 30. The winning ticket will be drawn the first week of October.
Raffle Ticket Eligibility
In order to receive a ticket you must fall into 1 of the 3 categories below:

New Library Card Sign-Up

In-person library card renewal

Returning – long lapse patron

Use your card after showing no activity on your card in the last 6 months

*must have completed 1 of the 3 anytime between 9/2/2024 through 9/30/2024
Prize Pick Up Rules
The winning ticket will be drawn on the first week of October. The winner will be contacted at the email or phone number listed on the ticket. The winner will have until Friday, October 18, 2024, to contact the library and provide a prize pick-up date.
If library staff have not heard from the winner by October 18, a new winner will be selected.
We will ask whoever wins the gift card to allow us to take a picture and share it on our social media.
